Located 160 km north-east of Adelaide on the 'Great Bend'
of the River Murray, Morgan was once South Australia's
largest inland port.
Whilst strolling around it is easy to become absorbed
in the history of Morgan, taking in the Port of Morgan
Historical Museum and Railway Terrace. The morgue on the
riverfront adjacent the ferry always draws a comment.
Morgan's two hotels, riverside caravan park, numerous
houseboats and public services and amenities, coupled
with its favourable climate make it a popular destination
for waterskiers, boating enthusiasts and anglers.
The combination of its history and natural appeal makes Morgan
an interesting visit. Given a reasonably prompt
start Morgan is a comfortable day trip from Adelaide.
